Studies have shown that skin irritation increases with every blade pass.
2. One blade is better. But it’s only half the answer.
In one study, about 4 in 10 men had redness after shaving with a single blade, versus nearly 6 in 10 with a cartridge. 4 in 10 is still too many.
3. One fixed gap still treats every shave the same.
A fixed safety razor has one gap for every area and every day's growth. When the gap doesn't suit the hair, the blade can't cut it cleanly, so you go over the same spot again or press harder. Both irritate your skin.

In one split-face study, 40.3% of participants had redness right after shaving on the side shaved with a single-blade safety razor, vs 57.6% on the side shaved with a 3-blade cartridge. The researchers point to the friction and pressure of multiple passes.4

How to Choose your Rockwell Razor
Your shave. Your choice of razor.
Over a decade of innovation. One belief: your shave should be adjustable. Discover Rockwell’s different adjustment and blade-loading systems, and find your fit.
Rockwell offers two blade-gap adjustment technologies: a twisting dial and flippable base plates. Both let you customize your blade gap instead of being limited to one fixed setting.
SETPOINT and T2 feature a twisting dial that changes the blade gap with a simple turn. Adjust up or down to suit the area you’re shaving, with on-the-go control—even mid-shave.
The 6S and 6C use three reversible base plates to give you six settings. Choose the plate and side for the blade gap you want, then assemble your razor and shave.
Turn the T2’s opening knob to open the butterfly doors, place your blade inside, then close the doors securely. The head stays attached to the handle. Use the separate adjustment dial to set your blade gap.
With SETPOINT, unscrew and lift off the top cap, place your blade, then refit and tighten the cap. The 6S and 6C also use a removable top cap, with a separate reversible base plate. Choose your base plate setting as you assemble the razor.
From the flippable base plates of the 6S and 6C to the twisting dials of T2 and SETPOINT, every razor shown lets you change your blade gap. Choose your razor, then choose the setting that suits your shave.
