Rockwell R1 - Wet Shaving Starter Kit

I have been slowly replacing most of the items in our home with less impact products (better environmentally, ethically, etc), and have been wary of replacing my husband’s razor. He has relatively thick, coarse facial hair (usually gets 4-5 uses from a “premium” replacement head razor), and he has been using them for decades. I heard him say, once, that he would be willing to try a single blade razor and jumped on the chance, as a Christmas present. I chose this set because
a) it wasn’t too expensive (if he didn’t like it) but still looked well built/thought out
b) it had mostly everything included (I added the blade “safe”)
He loves it! He loves the razor, the shaving soap, everything. His first use did result in a few nicks, but by the second use he knew exactly what he’d done “wrong” and… no nicks! It makes a super clean shave/line, looks very professional, and - so much better for the environment, we both win!
Highly recommend, even for “newbies”.

My first foray into safety razors and I'm now a convert. I love the shave brush and the shaving cream. There is no plastic used in the blade which is a huge plus and replacement blades don't cost a fortune. I have switched to the shaving soap bar as this shaving cream comes in a plastic container.

Disappointed in how long I had to wait for the package...wish Rockwell would have been upfront during the purchase that delivery would take over a month.

Honestly I actually love this kit. Its perfect.
I must be doing something wrong because I can't shave without cutting myself although I am getting better over time!
(Don't put this down to the razor just operator error haha!)
super simple kit and knowing its all Enviromentally friendly.

This kit is just what I needed. I've spent years and countless dollars treating shaving as an annoying chore with 5 bladed cartridges with some cheap aloe that wears out in two shaves all in a desperate attempt to keep my face from feeling like it's on fire. Wet shaving introduced me to shaving as the morning ritual it once was. The kit gives you all the basics you need, and the razor and the blades are high quality. For someone new to wet shaving, this kit is the no kidding first stop.

I purchased the R1 starter kit and am satisfied with the products I've used this far. I haven't used the soap yet because I still have some canned cream. I had some missteps with the razor in the beginning, but that was due to user error.

I honestly can't say anything bad about the kit, best shave I've ever had outside a barber shop. This is the first time I've shaved and not had razor burn since I was a teenager. Razor handle has a great weight, the blades are high quality and sharp, the brush is really nice for the price, and the shaving cream smells amazing. I'm usually a harsh reviewer and usually include downsides even on products I love but I honestly couldn't come up with any. High quality product and a great intro kit (though a seasoned safety razor fan would like it too)

I was new to double edge razor shaving and was looking for a way out of cartridge shaving. Rockwell offered the best value and I got a great razor! Such a smooth shave and the shave cream smells amazing. I would recommend to anyone looking to save some money while still getting a clean shave.

The razor is really easy to use. I just watched YouTube to see how to hold and shave. Before I knew it, I was shaving quickly and efficiently. Closest shave ever.
