A few years ago a friend of mine moved to a safety razor and swore by it up and down. I always had sensitive skin with constant red bumps / bleeding if I shaved with the same razor twice or tried to shave more than once a week. So I stuck with the disposables, used once and threw away.
I finally purchased the Rockwell kit as I really liked the idea of having different settings for the sensitivity of skin.
I started with it on level 1 but found it wouldn't take enough hair off per stroke and would have took forever to finish shaving. I ended up using level 3 out of 6 to shave off about 1 week growth and it worked surprisingly well. There was slight bumps but not sore and went away quickly and no bleeding. I will try the same blade for another shave to give it the "ultimate" test for me but so far I'm really happy with my purchase.
The shave handle and the inserts feel really well made and are solid feeling.
The shave cream and brush are also really nice, I've used them before and this one worked well.
If you're skeptical like me, give it a shot, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
