Worth the Wait

This is a $300 razor for the price of just over $100. I pre-purchased this razor in October of last year. The Rockwell Team are perfectionists. They made sure that the razors they put out are perfect. They could have made some short cuts and just pushed out these razors just as fast as they could, but the didn't. They make sure only a perfect razor leaves the factory to the customer. I am pretty sure they have lost money making this razor. Instead of throwing in the towel they bit the bullet, took the loss, and bought something most other companies will put little value on, a happy customer.
While I have waited on this razor I have been transferred twice. The Rockwell Team has been more than gracious to change my shipping address every time. I have nothing but respect for Rockwell Razors.

Model T razor

I have received my razor. I am very pleased with my Razor. I was disappointed in the delay I receiving. It was approximately a year longer than what I was initially yold

Great Razor

The razor itself is quite good. The mechanics of opening the top slot to put in a blade, closing the slot and adjusting the closeness of the shave is really good. The only complaint I have is the time it took for me to receive the razor itself. From the time I ordered it, to the time I received my razor in the mail, it took 1 full year.

First safety razor, been a cartridge user forever and I am so glad I switched

I am a Kickstarter backer and if I had known that it would take this long I would have bought a 6C to use while waiting. It was so worth the wait. I watched a couple of "how to videos" but seriously just set the razor to "1" and try it. As long as you don't slide the razor sideways along your face you won't cut yourself. It took me 3 shaves to get to where I am just as fast in the morning and it's just as clean a cut for me. The doors on the top make changing the blade trivial. The dial on the top makes it easy to adjust for your face whether you have a 3 day weekend in the woods cut, or the daily grind in the morning. I'm now sounding out my nephews to see what they are using, to send these as gifts.

A shaving masterpiece

That title would be a bold statement if it wasn't backed with good quality.

Initially I got a defective razor, where the heads were totally mismatched and the doors closed wrongly, leading to a completely different uneven shaved. I'm aware that this is an issue for earlier made models. Rockwell had sent in a replacement model that had a dial that had a pretty bad mark on it which soured my initial experience. Taking the razors apart, I mixed the good parts of the first and second razors to create the best version of the Model T I could make with the only damage being for the bottom cap that hid the screw underneath. I wish I could get that tiny part replaced to perfect the razor but it's small enough I can ignore it. The experience gave me a bit of a personalised feel to the razor, a unique experience for sure.

For the actual shaving experience, it is without a doubt the best possible one I've ever gotten. The Model T at it's best gives an even shave with perfect adjust ability to suit needs and face structure. It has a bit of a learning curve but that is to be expected of an advanced Razor. I was expecting blade rattling or ANY tiny problems but for me that didn't happen so perfection there. Nothing wakes you in the morning like the feel of cold razor steel on your face and the confidence of getting the best shave. So for anyone thinking about getting this Razor as your first Safety Razor or to have as part of your kit, no doubt, it's one of the greats. Mix it with your favourite brand of Razor Blade or use Rockwell's default blade and you're set.

To Rockwell Razors, thank you for being kind to send in a proper replacement and for producing such amazing quality work. If there's anything I can say is to be extremely careful with quality control for this razor as to avoid any future problems like mismatched parts of deep markings on the parts.

Best shave in a long time!

The new Rockwell is amazing. It took about fou shaves to get it dialed in, but now it’s a done deal. I had put up with my old double side fo too long! No more cuts or nicks, just smooth shaves. Thanks for the great work you put into this.

Worth the wait

I'm glad Rockwell took the time to get it right. The razor is lovely to look at and the mechanism works like silk. The razor is more aggressive than I expected, but not so much I fear for my skin. My sweet spot is right around 4. I think the current retail price is a bargain and the pledge amount is a steal. I routinely get smooth, irritation free shaves. With over 70 razors in my collection, this is easily in my top 5.

Superb razor

I regularly use several razors from Rockwell 6S to ATT S1's. The Model T is the first TTO I have used and I bought it after being impressed by the 6S and by Rockwells promise that it was going to be a winner. It is one of the smoothest, most comfortable shaving razors I own. Very well built and put together it genuinly lives up to all I expected from it and then a bit more.I am very impreessed with it and it really does merit a place in my rotation and pleasantly surprises me every time I use it.

Solid and reliable

There's a bit of a learning curve for sure. I really enjoy the cost of the razor. I've had it about a year and haven't spent a penny past my original investment. If you're willing to experiment a little to find the setting and skillset that works for you, the razor is mighty fine. If you're looking for a super fool-proof shave, you might want to consider lazier options.

WOW!

This is a great razor . I used it first time today. The Rockwell Model-T is a twist-to-open AND an adjustable. It's beautiful to look at and with the chrome over bronze it's not a lightweight. I had a day and a half day's beard growth. I used a new Personna Red blade. There was no loose blade play and no overhang at the ends. The adjustment knob runs from 1 to 6. I shaved one sideburn on 4 but changed it to 5 for the rest of the first pass. I was using Strop Shoppe's Instinct. A tallow and lanolin LE soap. I read it's no longer available. First pass on 5 was smooth. I dialed it down to 3 for the 2nd and 3rd pass since the first pass was efficient. I did my usual 4th pass under the jaw and chin on 3 also. I had one little spot of razor burn that was completely my fault. This razor gives a superb shave. Its beautiful to look at. I heartily recommend the Rockwell Model-T. I have their model 6-C and I recommend it too. I'm extremely pleased with both.
